Baptism ya Mismo

Hey everyone.

Well this Saturday we are going to have a baptism!!!!

Super excited for that. We have been preparing this guy for a while. He's a young man and he's progressing a lot! His older brother is a recent convert so we are excited to unite the family a little more. We had a great week this week working here in ¨paradise¨

Nothing too out of the normal..

We found new people and tried to work a little bit more with the members. We had a cool activity class thing planned this Sunday for the 3rd hour, but the attitude was not a very willing one. We have some challenges here, but I'm sure that there are people here. We will have another baptism in June if everything works out fine. Hoping for some miracles in the future.

Shoes are getting wrecked. Sent them to get fixed, just need a super temporary fix, I don't want to fix them like super good either.. 2 more months baby haha, we'll see how they turn out, I'll pick them up tomorrow.  Also ate like a clam salad thing with rice this week with the bishops family..  the best food comes from the coast!

Welp, thanks for the emails, love you guys, have a  great week.

12 More Weeks

I'm really glad I was able to talk to my family yesterday. Its official, 12 more weeks! It's getting crazy, I can almost count it on my fingers the weeks I have left .. haha, I haven't gotten my comp yet, he will be coming in at about 4 30 my time.  Well see how things go this week. I'm determined to work hard.  I'm also going to request to finish in cayambe. I have 2 of my best missionary friends there right now. There are 4 elders there again, the first time that that has happened since I was there over a year ago. I would love to go back. I want to know if that's an option.
Well see. But ya had a fun day today, I hung out with elder morton and his comp in a trio all day.  There's this guy that leaves on his mission tomorrow. He made a huge change in his life a year ago and decided to come back to church. He's the youngest of 9 siblings, all of which served missions, are married and have families. all are active. He's the youngest and he's 26. He got his life turned around just in time and tomorrow he leaves. He's the youngest brother of the guy who let me use his computer yesterday, hno moroni.   So today, he took us three around in his car, invited us lunch and showed us some really pretty places.  it was soo nice just going on a drive and relaxing. Not thinking about much, just enjoying.   I got some cool pics. mas o menos..  but ya, I'm getting excited to see you guys again, but I'm planning on working hard.
Like I said yesterday, we have 1 person with a date., He's doing awesome! Well hopefully get a few more in the weeks to come.

I am reading the BoM for the mission challenge and its way awesome this time through!!  We get a lot of questions each week to answer and to ponder. I'm in alma right now. I love alma 5. It makes me really think about my conversion. I feel like throughout my life I did a lot of things just because you guys told me too. I felt like I have felt the spirit before, but here in the mission I feel like I have learned a lot. I still feel like my testimony can grow a lot more, and I really want to be able to receive personal revelation more often. I loved pres nelsons talk. It hit me hard. Life is going to be really hard if we can recognize the spirit and receive personal revelation. I feel like these next 3 months will be a big moment in my life. I am going to pray harder and study more in depth. thanks for being a great parent to me. It hit yesterday that life really will never be the same like it was before. I won't be living at home. I have like a week, haha.  Its going to be a big adjustment for me, but I'm excited for what's ahead.

Have a good week!

Less than 100 days ... Que Trunky!

Hey everyone,
its official, less than 100 days left.  Que Loco!

This week has been kind of crazy.

Yesterday I got a fever at like 2am..  So yesterday was just the worst. That was the first that I time actually had to stay home all day for sickness.  One of the elders from my district came over to stay with me so that our comps could work both sectors.  So ya, we didn't go to church yesterday. There was a special area conferences yesterday that we missed so that kind of sucked, Pres. Ballard spoke.

But ya, this morning woke feeling better and could finally eat something. Hadn't eaten anything for like more that 24 hours.

On the work aspect we just got beat up this week. One of the hardest weeks I've had in the mission so far. Just about every appointment we had fell through which was a huge bummer. For the amount of contacting we did this week we should´ve found like 25 NI, but only found 8. It was a tough week.  But I'm not too upset right now. It happens. Good weeks and Bad weeks.

Something weird that happened.  This guy has been like following us for a while now, and every time he finds us he grabs us and talks to us for like 15 minutes about his problems and asks us for help..  Well that's what we do as missionaries right?, Well this guy wants us to help steal this girl from her current relationship..  He like works all day selling candy in the buses and then gives her things, like flowers, shoes, phones, whatever. he finds us and asks us to go over and talk to her for him.   Then he gives us a bible with a special scripture marked and says, go give this to her, and tell her I sent you..  Soo well see what happens there..

All good here, hope all of you are having a good week.

Love ya Elder Jensen

Hey Guys

Hey Guys,

Well this week went by fast..  A Little too fast.
Not much going on here in "Paradise"  There are still problems in the Ward, but hey we are trekking a long. We actually have 3 people with baptismal date right now. We are really excited for them, and are hoping to get some more! We have Maria Isavel, Soraida, and Jose Luis.  They are all doing well and have a lot of potential. One of them actually has been coming to church for like a year, but has finally put herself in a place to be baptized. Her date, along with Jose Luis, is the 26th of May. Maria Isabel has a date ya mismo, of the 12th of May. We got some potential here.

This week has just flown by. fun times. my comp had his bday this week and like didn't say anything. I found out the day before so I made him pancakes. On Tuesday for district council we bought him a cake and shoved his face into it, that was pretty funny, he laughed, but I don't think he liked it.. haha
That's the tradition here.  It had to be done.

Well, that the week to tell ya the truth.  I finished 2 nefi this week and I love how he finished the chapter, " I must obey" Really good way to finish my reading this week.  Hope all of you are Reading too.

Welp have a good week!

La Costa es Loca

Hey guys.
Wow, weird week.
Had a really awesome zone conference. We are going to work a bunch more with the members now, should be great.

Today is the 2 year anniversary of the earthquake that hit here in Ecuador, it's kind of crazy that that hit just 2 years ago. There are a lot of people talking about that this week.

Sunday was crazy.. 0 investigators came and the ward was just way down.. It's a tough ward to get to, this paradise ward. But we were able to talk with a few priesthood holders and got some plans down to work with them, soo excited for this week. We will be doing some activities to get them all more involved this week.

Hey re reading the BoM again, and it's way awesome. We are doing a mission wide reading challenge to finish by June 27. We are on week 3 right now, and it's going great, hope all of you are reading!  Well sorry, not much time to write, but this week is going to be great, focusing a ton on this great work. love it a bunch.

Here are a few pics. yes there is kfc here.. and yes, my comp and I buy little kids, watermelon scented, monster wipes.

Bueno

Hey guys, como estan?!!

Way good weekend here! General Conference was awesome!  One for the books!   The spirit was felt! Pres. Nelson is a Prophet of God.
No but it was way cool to listen to all of the changes being made so that we can focus more on the commandment of loving our neighbors and ministering unto them. I really like this focus of the church and know that these have been inspired changes from God.   If anything, I learned the importance of having and continuing to receive personal revelation.
But ya, great end to the week. Spiritually edified and ready to work!

Well the week itself was tough. Really a week of finding and teaching but you got to have the bad ones to make the good ones really good pues.

We will however have a baptism this Saturday!!! Really excited for that.   Vania Callahorano, a little girl from a Less Active family we have been working with is all set. Its been fun working with this family! Hoping to keep baptizing.. I've been in a "drought" of no baptizing for a few changes..  buttttt this Saturday will be the day!

Well that's about it for this week. This next week is going to be great!  Enjoy this foto of me and my companion
