Como Estan?

Hwy everyone, como estan?

Well, it's been a  pretty decent week here this week.  We were able to participate in 2 baptisms this week in the district, my district is rocking it, we already have 4 for the month, beat the goal of 3 per month this month so that's awesome.  But ya that was a cool experience.  Elder Platt and I are working hard. Fun companionship.  Fun to have a gringo comp for like the first time in the mission.

Welp, this week, we basically have been finding a lot.  Working on that, still no one with baptismal date, but pretty soon we should have some.. I can't decide if I want to stay one more transfer here or not.  We have a lot of people with potential that will probably get baptized next change, but we'll see.. I'll be fine either way... Even though the Orient is hot, I kind of like it .  It's a good place with a lot of nice people.. gonna miss it, but still got time here to work.  Nothing super crazy this week..  Just the usual.

Ummmmm ya.. this week we worked a lot with Diana who's progressing tons!  She could totally get baptized, but we're still hesitant because she's had problems with the Word of Wisdom, but ya she's been clean for more than 3 weeks.  Were gonna wait a lil longer to see what happens, but she is doing way better.  Please keep praying fro her.

Super excited for conference this weekend, should be a great one. We'll be inviting a ton of people here in Ecuador to watch it. I invite you to do the same.. just extend the invitation to someone, if they say no, well you tried..  The Lord will bless us as we open our mouths and invite others to come unto Christ.

Well that's about it for this week.  In the week that comes we'll be having a zone conference with president murphy on Tuesday.  Also the new thing that they have started to do is that the assistants of President travel and do exchanges with the DLs so this week one is coming to coca to live with me and Elder Platt.. that should be fun.  Also, I'm now comin up on 1 year here in Ecuador so this Thursday I have to leave to Quito to renew my visa..  busy week, but should be a good one.

Well everyone have a good week.

Workin in the Jungle...

Hello Everyone

It's been a pretty good week here in the jungle of Ecuador, first full week working with Elder Platt from Utah. But ya, we've been working hard this week, in the rain and in the sun. Seriously, the jungle here has a mind of it's own.  You could wake up in the morning to a  ton of clouds and tons and tons of rain till the streets flood, then the afternoon comes and it's the super hot and humid, don't forget the humidity..  But ya, it's been fun here working.  and super fun with a gringo comp.

Welp let's see what's been going on this week.  We've been basically starting over here in this sector, because we don't have many investigators with potential to progress.  We found a few people, but we'll see if this week we can find even more.  Umm we had a few great lessons this week with some recent converts, and ya really hoping to keep working with them.  Every month the Mission President sends out a hashtag for like a theme of the month and this month is Give Me This Mountain.. There's a talk by Pres Kimball from like 1979 where he referenced a story from the bible about a man named Caleb.. the story and the talk have been a like a study focus for me this week and I learned a lot.  I was also able to apply it a lot in this week in my teaching.  I've really seen the blessings that come when we face our challenges with faith and trust in the Lord.  When we can recognize that we can't do everything ourselves and that Lord plays a huge role in our success we will see blessings..  Humbly we can say, Give me this Mountain, and then we can work to get over that mountain with his help..  The grass is greener on the other side, and think how much better it will be if we use the gospel in our lives to get over that mountain..  I don't know, those were just a few thoughts I had this week as we applied this message in the lives of some of our investigators..  Read the talk if you guys want to when you  have time this week.   I'm sure you will like it as well..

But ya, it's been a pretty fast week.. I have a feeling that from here on out the mission is going to be really fast.. and  I'm not gonna lie, not ready for that..

But ya, hope you guys all have a good week talk to you next week.

Changes???

Kind of...

Hey everyone, well this week was a little interesting..  We were working in a trio again for a few days, then we got a call in the morning on Wednesday that I was going to  receive Elder Platt here..  Basically a missionary arrived to the offices in Quito when he was supposed to be serving in Mexico.. some big mistake in the flights or something.. not sure what happened.. but ya they communicated with the other mish president there in Mexico, and decided he'll stay here for one transfer.  So they had to move some things around.. Now I'm back in my first sector and my first house..  It has been officially called by the other elders in my district the hole...  So now I'm living in the hole again.. but ya, it's all good..

Elder Platt is from Utah.  He's pretty cool.  Hoping to work hard this change with him and find a ton of people..

Not much happened this week. we had 3 sectors for 5 days waiting for the Hermanas and Elder Platt to come so that was interesting,.. but well see how this week goes..

Well today for pday we ate mallones..    I think that's how you spell it..  worms..   super not yummy..  not a fan tbh.   But well now I can say I've been in the orient..  I sent a pretty graphic video of me eating it.. I'm sorry to those who are weak of the stomach, but ya enjoy..

Talk to you all next week.

Changes

Wellllllllllll

The changes came,. and they are super crazy.. again..  so here is a little recap of the last one.

I was here with my companion, and he finished his mission, sot hey put me in a tri with Elder Molina and Elder Gehring..  We had 2 sectors. Elder Veliz and Elder Lalliss stayed together in their sector. 2 weeks later, they sent Elder Gehring away..

Soo it was us 4 here for a month in the district.

Saturday night we get the changes.. Elder Molina and I are still together.. but we are in a  trio again with Elder Lalliss this time.......  They are moving us to the other sector and my sector.. and the sector of Elder Molina is going to receive 2 sisters.. Soo basically for the first time in 6 years the Orient is getting sisters.. I now am going to be in all 3 of the sectors of coca, so let's just say I'll know coca pretty well..  We still have 2 sectors, so that's gonna  be fun again.. Spending half of the time in a week to cover 2 different places.. But hey that is all part of the mission.. challenges are everywhere. should be fun.. Elder Molina, Elder Lallisss and I get along well so it should be a fun change.  But ya the transfers have been crazy!

Well this week was pretty normal. A hot week as normal, but we worked hard.. We found some new people and were helping some people progress more and more towards baptism.  We actually have one family from Elder Molina's sector who is really close.  They have a date for the 16th of September.  Its a dad and his daughter and they have made some serious progress!  They basically have all of the lessons and this week they will have their interviews..  So hoping everything goes well for them..  They are the Almeida family..  Also 2 people from the sector of Elder Lalliss will be getting baptized this Saturday..  They are part  of the Lopez Sanchez family that we baptized a month ago.. It is way cool to see this family finding the gospel together.  But ya, really these next few weeks will be interesting. Hoping we can find and work hard together.

Ya pues, that's the week.. also here's a little foto of a chinese otter eatin noodles..
